Forty-nine days…

For any of you who may be experiencing some insecurity issues, let’s talk…

Philippians 3:12

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.  (N.K.J.V.)

When God speaks something into my life, I usually share it with you.  As He continues to move in my own life, I pray He will also move in yours.  Every day as I pray for direction, I feel that Christ is calling me to encourage you.

To be in any type of ministry, you must care about people.  There is no room for “clicks” and elitists when ministering.  You have to be willing to pour everything out in order for God to refill you.  Sometimes it’s difficult to bear each other’s burdens, yet God commands us to do so (Galatians 6:2).  Many times He places us in situations which are not always comfortable.  Sometimes He might require us to give things up to fulfill a specific plan He has.  Oftentimes, we have the tendency to feel “unqualified” for the assignment He gives us, and those feelings usually stem from pride.  Of this I am guilty…

I tend to struggle with feelings of never being good enough.  The truth is, if He says, “Jen, I want you to________ “(fill in the blank) then I need to do it.  And, more importantly, I need to take my pride out of the equation and believe in His will for my life.  I can’t waste time worrying about the fact that I’m a blogger who cannot live without spell check and press on in doing what He has for me to do.  Without fear, without despairing thoughts, without worry of failure, I will press on toward His call.

Earlier in Philippians chapter 3:3 Paul says, “Rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh.”  I’m working really hard at taking my eyes off of me and all of my shortcomings and focusing completely on Him and His majesty. If you are anything like me and beat yourself up for doing things at which you feel you will never be good enough, let me say, “Focus on Christ and what He is telling you to do.”  Our security cannot be in our own abilities.  Our security must be in His plan.
