Hello and Happy New Year! I really wanted to post a Vlog today giving you the first Go Give instruction; however, I gave up after 1,000 takes. Apparently, my twins have boycotted the idea of a Vlog. Here is when I finally gave up…
Anyway, I’m excited to begin 2014 with a brand new project. It’s what I consider to be a God Sized dream in my life. It’s called, Go Give. If you haven’t read my introductory post regarding Go Give, you can do that here.
There are a couple matters I want to tell you about before I give the first Go Give instruction.
- We are beginning a Go Give Community group on Facebook. If you join the group today and commit to be a part of #GoGive in some way over the year 2014 (even if it’s not every month) you will be entered to win 2 five dollar Starbucks gift cards. One for yourself, and the other to use in participation with this month’s challenge. (The winner will be chosen at random and notified January 3rd.) The best part of joining the Go Give Community will be sharing hope, encouragement, and ideas for how to “pull off” your Go Give challenges each month.
- I have a free printable on the blog today. This is for you to print out and use as part of your Go Give Challenge. Using the printable with your Go Give Challenge is optional. However, using it may inspire the person who receives to participate as well. – Go Give January Printable -300
- If you are a blogger and want to participate, feel free to grab the GO Give button below and place it on your blog. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could start a Go Give trend! People everywhere would have the opportunity to recognize they have value and have been created for a purpose!
Here is the first Go Give Challenge!
Go Give Coffee!!!!
At the beginning of a New Year everyone is usually tired of cookies and perfectly wrapped items, so I thought it would be a great idea to start with something most people refuse to live without: coffee!
I’m heading out to my local coffee shop. (I’m actually going to do this a few times throughout the month.) I’m going to pay for a cup of coffee for the next woman who walks through the coffee shop door after I’ve left the counter. I’m choosing to do this for women, because my calling is to women’s ministry. You can do whatever feels right for you.
I’m going to have the barista hand the printable with the cup of coffee to the woman who is receiving it.
It’s an option to introduce yourself and take a picture with your new friend! Or, you can just sit in the corner watching, soaking in the look on the person’s face and then write about their reaction.
On January 31st we will meet back here on the blog for a link up telling the stories surrounded by our Go Give challenge. If you don’t have a blog, you can share your story on the comment section of my blog, the Go Give Facebook Community Page, Instagram, or Twitter using the hashtag #GoGive!
The entire point of this is to let others know they have worth. This opportunity might even open the door to point out that we ALL have worth because Christ is worthy! You never know where baby steps will lead!
May the Lord Bless you as you Go Give!
Happy New Year!
Love,
Jennifer
Great idea! I’m in. Couldn’t find the Facebook group, although I am not Facebook savvy at all. I found you but not the group. Looking forward to this as it complements one of my goals for 2014. Thanks for being a facilitator to encourage such worthy acts.
Hi Lisa! I’m so excited for you to take part in Go Give! I have a link to Facebook in the post. If you click on it, it should take you directly to the Facebook page. I can’t wait to hear how your first challenge turns out! Happy New Year!
I so love this project of yours, Jennifer. I love your printable too. What a great idea to hand out as we GO GIVE and hopefully inspire others to do the same. I’m all in and love your first challenge. Happy New Year!
Alright, I’ve went back and forth thinking I’m already in over my head with “things to do”. But, I want to give more this year, and what a more perfect way. Thank you for this challenge. And the first one? I’m all about Coffee!
Love this Jennifer! I’ve been trying to discern some blog related missions for this year & I want to be in on this one:) God’s placed some great gifts in you & I’m excited to see them bloom. in faith, Rachel
Thanks so much, Rachel! I’m so happy to have you be a part of this!
Jennifer… this is awesome! I am so loving this idea… this God-Sized Dream of yours! Thanks for inviting us to play along! (Plus – you know… COFFEE!) It was nice to hear your voice again too! We met at Allume and hearing your heart and your sweet voice brought it all back! (Printing my printables right now!)
Thanks, Karrilee! I so enjoyed our time at Allume together! I’m also reading your blog and loving it! Have a happy Friday, Friend!
